Schultz received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computational Mathematics from Washington State University, minoring in both Electrical Engineering and Vocal Performance.
David B. Schultz is the Senior Vice President of Game Development and handles the creation, direction, execution, and delivery of game content for the company. Schultz’s career includes management and creative development for organizations ranging from General Mills and Ben Bridge Jewelers, to his own production company (DBS Music) which provided original music and audio to the PC games industry and whose clientele included publishers such as Microsoft, Mindscape, and Cyberdreams. In 1999, Schultz was tapped to create and build the audio department at the world’s oldest slot machine manufacturer, Bally Technologies, which had no internal audio team. As audio lead, he helped develop a new, technologically competitive sound card, standardized the audio production process, and created original audio content for every game Bally developed and released. As voice-over director, he had the good fortune to direct and work with wonderful talent including Ray Charles, Adam Sandler, Dana Carvey, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Bob Eubanks, Cheech Marin, and the legendary June Foray. Within three years of his employment at Bally, he was asked to be the venerable company’s first video slot game producer with one small studio. That studio soon became two, then three; then a fourth external studio was created in Huntington Beach, California. Over the next several years, two more internal studios were added, and five new studios were created in Chennai, India, all under Schultz’s direction. In those dozen years, he developed hundreds of video slot and poker games as Senior Director of Game Development. Under his direction, Bally released numerous licensed and traditional games including Michael Jackson King of Pop, Titanic, Cash Wizard, Fu Dao Le, and the enormously popular Quick Hit Platinum series.
